Having first discovered Lindy Hop in the mid 2000s, Bruce and Jane were instrumental in founding Kingston Swing in Hull in 2008. They’ve spent the past 17 years teaching Lindy and Aerials across the UK and Europe, as well as organising now legendary Hullzapoppin' international swing dance festival.
Flashy lifts and tricks were what sparked Bruce’s interest in Swing dance; landing safely is what's maintained Jane's interest in flashy lifts and tricks! Their aerials classes usually have a high degree of fun paired with plenty of vital technique and a respectable tip of the hat to health and safety to achieve big results safely and in a short period of time… you’ll believe a Lindyhopper can fly!
Alessandro’s boogie woogie journey began in Milan (Italy), on a summer night in July 2018. After years of dancing South American folkloric styles, he stumbled upon a group dancing swing in Piazza della Pace—and it was love at first sight. The very next day, he joined a class, and haven’t stopped since, jugging daily lessons, intense training with Filippo Buccomino, a Boogie Woogie World Champion, competitions, international workshops, and sharing his passion and experience through teaching and events.
For Alessandro, dancing is pure joy, fun, and connection—a way to break down barriers, meet new people, and share moments of freedom and excitement. He believes that dancing teaches us to listen, grow both technically and personally, and create unique bonds.
Zaira took her first dance steps steps in Calabria (Italy) in classical and modern dance, before discovering lindy hop and boogie woogie in Milan in 2018. Her current main focus is on international competitions, and she can’t wait to come to Cork e ballare con Voi Boogie Woogie!
